Overview
Locafox helps local businesses to digitise their product range and ensure that they are competitive and successful in a highly competitive market. Founded in June 2013, They work to connect local business to the Omni-Channel world and to partner with new customers. However, Locafox is always working hard to improve the experience of its users. And they got me on board to take the MVP to the next level.

I set up the user-centred design process for a developing of a point of sale system (POS) and a local-marketplace. Following a Lean UX approach, I quickly and effectively validated business hypothesis and new features. In the process, I involved users throughout the design and development. I also facilitated workshops with the customer support team to add user feedback easily and faster into the design backlog.

After setting up the process, I applied some research methodologies (observation in store, face to face interviews and testing session) to collect user’s insights. I understood their behaviour and needs towards the system. I incorporated some of these findings into the backlog, to make sure the team was working in the right features (based on user needs).

I made sure that every product was user tested before developing and releasing. I managed to complete the whole UX process in one sprint of two weeks. I used rapid prototyping as a tool to create prototypes. I organised user testing sessions every week or two weeks. We gave way exclusive access to new products (and freebies) to the clients that got involved in the process.

Locafox found the approach so vital that they declared user centre design process as the only way to move forward with business decisions. They now share half of the market of POS systems with their competitor Comarch, after just 18 months of launching. Locafox just reached the Spanish and the Netherlands market. They have decided to focus their resources and efforts in the development just of the POS system.  They have shut down the marketplace (locafox.de).
